Ever worry you might upset your computer guy or gal? Fearful that they might leave on bad terms? Most companies are scared of their computer staff because of the reliance they place on them every day.

Mann Consulting's belief is that most businesses today don't need a computer department manager 365 days a year. And most of what you actually NEED on a regular basis is rather mundane. Things like getting printers to work, and making sure email works, and adding a new employee to the file server.

Unfortunately, most salaried computer people get bored with mundane, administrative tasks. Why run diagnostic software when you can explore the internet, try new media solutions, or learn networking or programming skills?

So they convince you that you need a new fancy Linux system to do some technical thing. Or they tell you that they need to research a streaming video solution, or attend a certification class on 3D animation. And you don't feel qualified to suggest that they're wrong.

Repairing and maintaining computers has become less interesting, while computer careers have become more interesting. This is good for computer people, but bad for business people.

Our approach is to offer businesses smart, scalable, reliable solutions. We help hundreds of companies with thousands of computers. So once we learn about a new problem, all of our consultants are aware of it and can fix it fast. Our consultants are mobile warriors, with wireless notebooks and wireless phones for anytime/anywhere access to our entire consulting team as well as our knowledge database with pertinent information and software resources.

And since you may not need us around 40 hours a week, we offer convenient contract support - maybe you only need 3 days a week - we can schedule that for you. Or maybe just an afternoon every Friday. Either way, we're flexible - and because we move our consultants around different companies doing different projects, they stay challenged, motivated and focused on what your needs are, instead of theirs.
