Goodby, Silverstein & Partners

Project: A case study in efficiency

Mann Consulting is able to support an agency of 300 busy employees with only 4 full time consultants, far less than many in-house IT departments.

Standardization
Machines are built and configured by Mann consultants in a cookie-cutter fashion, so that they all are configured identically. This dramatically reduces support time, as the help desk technician "knows what to expect" when he or she is troubleshooting a computer problem.

Reduction of wasted time
By installing and using both screen sharing and remote software installation software, the help desk can handle a higher volume of support calls. Most problems can be fixed remotely while the client is on the phone, and a trip to the employee's office or cubicle is rarely required. How much time do other IT employees spend walking to and from different parts of their office building fixing problems? A lot, and most of that time is a waste and is completely unnecessary.

Flexibility
Though the four consultants at GSP all have different primary responsibilities, there is enough overlap so that most tasks can still get accomplished when one consultant is out sick or on vacation. Additionally, Mann Consulting can also assist the client's employees and provide additional manpower when needed for special projects, such as office moves. Mann Consulting can also provide additional specialized services when needed, such as database design, web design, and multimedia production. This can free the client from having to maintain specialized talent in its permanent staff.

The Mann Consulting Approach
The Goodby, Silverstein & Partners case study is just one example of the approach Mann Consulting brings to all clients. We use our expertise to formulate economical solutions that still benefit large groups of people. Is your current IT set-up meeting those requirements?
